The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream is for foreign nationals with the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the province's economy. Candidates need to meet the minimum eligibility requirements, have a genuine job offer from a New Brunswick employer, and intend to live and work in the province permanently.
This program also assists New Brunswick employers in hiring foreign nationals and international graduates when they cannot fill job vacancies with Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Provincial immigration pathways depend on federal immigration allocations, application volumes, and provincial labor market needs. Therefore, ONB immigration processes applications at its discretion to best support the goals of the NBPNP.
As of March 20, 2023, Immigration NB introduced specific measures to manage the New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream inventory through the end of 2023.
The NBPNP offers multiple streams catering to different applicant profiles. These include:
The Express Entry Labour Market Stream (EELMS) allows the NBPNP to use the federal Express Entry immigration selection system to meet New Brunswick’s specific labor market and demographic needs. This stream functions on an Expression of Interest (EOI) model.
